But there are specific home remedies which can help to manage acne.

As such, we can rely on to some natural recipes which will help us to get rid of our acne at home itself. 

How do we get acne? 

Before taking a look at the home remedies, let us first understand what causes acne! Our facial skin is composed of pores. When these pores get clogged with oil and dead skin cells, acne is caused. Sometimes, these pores may also get infected with bacteria, which leads to inflammation and redness. Pimples, whiteheads, and blackheads are the most common symptoms of acne.

Tea Tree Oil 

It is one of the most popular essential oils that is utilized for the treatment of acne. It helps to fight bacteria and reduces the inflammation caused by it. There have been a number of studies that show that when you apply a 5% solution of tea tree oil onto your facial skin, it results in a significant reduction of acne. To use tea tree oil on your pimples, take one part tea tree oil and mix nine parts water in it. You are then supposed to dip a clean cotton swab in this mixture and apply it lightly on to your skin. Repeat this process twice a day to see significant results. 

Aloe Vera 

But only aloe vera is a moisturizing agent, but it is one of the most prevalent antimicrobial plants out there. The clear gel of aloe vera is added to lotions, creams, and even soaps. According to studies, this plant can help to fight inflammation, treat burns, and heal wounds. A few components of aloe vera are also utilized for acne treatments. These include salicylic acid and sulfur. 

To apply aloe vera on your skin, peel an aloe vera leaf. Scrape the gel off in a bowl and apply it directly to washed skin. You can also freeze the gel in an ice tray and apply it before going to sleep every day. In case you do not have an aloe vera plant, you can also buy a gel from your nearest pharmacy. But you should make sure that this gel does not have any preservatives. 

Honey 

Honey is also a very popular home ingredient to treat acne. It has been used to treat skin conditions for thousands of years. Honey contains several antioxidants that help to clear the clogged pores. When the waste and debris from these pores are removed, the skin shows a reduction in redness and pimples. You can apply honey to your face by mixing it in a face mask. You can also apply it directly with the help of a clean finger or a cotton swab. However, you must make sure that you do not reuse this honey in cooking. Set aside this container for your acne only. 

Green Tea 

There are a number of masks available in the market which utilize green tea as its core component. This is because green tea has a very high concentration of some antioxidants called catechins. These antioxidants break down the waste products which damage healthy cells. As such, green tea may help to clear out the gunk from the clogged pores in the facial skin.  According to some studies, there was a reduction in blackheads and whiteheads after using green tea extract for eight weeks.To use green tea for your acne issues, you can either drink it or use the extract to apply on your skin.

Coconut Oil 

Coconut oil is found in almost every household. It contains anti-inflammatory and antibacterial compounds, which help to reduce the inflammation in the pimples. The antimicrobial properties may destroy the bacteria in the infected pores and reduce the swelling and irritation. Coconut oil also helps in treating dry, scaly skin. 

To use coconut oil for your acne issues, you only have to buy virgin coconut oil. Apply directly onto the affected skin. Make sure to use virgin coconut oil, which does not have any preservatives or other chemicals. 

These five home remedies are straightforward to follow. All these ingredients are readily available in every household. However, if your acne continues to persist, then you may have to try allopathic treatments on the recommendation of your dermatologist.
